The sari silk yarn is hand spun by women in Nepal from the silk fiber leftover from the process of weaving silk fabric used to make saris. Because the yarn uses leftover fragments, it is brightly colored and each skein is completely unique. The shawl is woven in a twill structure to show off the lovely colors of this interesting yarn. Buying this yarn provides income to women who otherwise wouldn't have any.
